DREAM VISION:

It was a very surreal landscape and seemed to be in a tropical forest. There were various large and unusual looking birds flying around in and out of the scene, but I can’t remember exactly what they looked like, except that they reminded me of prehistoric birds that I have seen in pictures.

I was staring through a clear space in the forest, with a few trees in it and lots of tall exotic undergrowth. I was mesmerized with all that I saw, when suddenly, from amidst the large ferns directly in front of me, sprang a huge white eagle! It was beautiful, it was magnificent; it was overwhelming! He was totally white with no other markings on him. I was spellbound as I watched him soar above the trees and finally disappear as if in flight to Heaven.

Then I saw several white buffalo calves and they were sickly and didn’t live very long before they died. I was aware that their deaths were related to the fact that they were earthbound. The eagle was able to survive because he could break the bonds of the earth and soar through the heavens.

Dear Lisa:

Almost two years ago, I bought your book, Now Is the Hour. It was great. Two days ago I had a dream vision. I have received insight into it, but would like to have your interpretation. It goes as follows:

I have received some insights into the dream vision, but would like your interpretation. I don’t normally write people like this, but you popped into my mind and I felt that I had to send it to you. Is there such a thing as a “white eagle” either in reality or in mythology?

I understand you write poetry. Are your books of poetry available for purchase and where can I order copies? Also, I would be interested in your artwork. Where can I view it? Do you have a catalog or a website? Could you do a painting of the “White Eagle” dream vision?

The blessings of the Creator are already upon you. May they be increased three-fold.

Dear Gerald

Burn a little of this sage as you read this

Thank you for your kind words.

We, Chippewa, have a legend that the white eagle will return just before the purification. His purpose as a Phoenix-like bird is to burn away the lies so the truth can be told ( this truth = “a clear space in the forest” ). Sickly buffalo calves-represent the times people really tried to be more open and to change things but didn’t succeed because they were too earth-bound ( walk on the earth ) so the eagle is sent to BREAK FREE with force as it did in the dream. Find a white feather-one will probably come to you. Use it to pull smudge to yourself to purify. Take it with you to vision questing.

A gallery customer set up a place to view our art at www.geocities.com/dietzandbrown/bawatingart.htm.

Prints of the wolves “Fallen Warrior” are still available for 79.00 each.

Good luck and Creators love,

I couldn’t do a painting of this but you can-especially on a shield.

NOTES: This card from Lisa Dietz was received on June 25, 2002.

I just realized while reading this letter that her spiritual name is “Eagle Woman.” This did not occur to me when I sent her the letter.

I did find a white feather while walking the dogs one day. This was after the dream vision about the white eagle. It was a small feather and got messed up when I was putting the dogs back in their pen. I put it in my pocket and when I pulled it out, it was messed up. I left it on the ground by the pen. Hopefully it will come to me again as a larger sturdier feather. On the way to a fish fry, I saw a dead hawk by the road. I wanted to get a feather from it. (Note: November 5, 2010. Friday-A short while after this was originally written, I received a dream catcher in the mail with six pairs of white feathers attached to it.)
